Temporary jobs

What is temporary employment?

Temporary employment is a form of work arrangement where you sign an employment contract with a temporary staffing agency, namely, BIURO, which becomes your direct employer. However, you actually work at another company, which is our client. Once your assignment at one company ends, we offer you a new opportunity at another. You remain an employee of BIURO, only your workplace changes, depending on your preferences.

Can I find a permanent job through BIURO?

Yes, you can. BIURO offers not only temporary but also permanent job opportunities. Based on the demands of our clients, we carry out recruiting and selection procedures for trained professionals, unskilled workers, and specialists in a variety of sectors.
Additionally, on average, one in five of our temporary employees receives an offer to be hired directly by the company where they were placed.

What services does BIURO offer to job seekers?

Depending on the position, successful candidates may:

  • Be hired directly by our client;
  • Be employed for temporary work under a temporary employment contract. Once an assignment at one company ends, we offer a new job opportunity elsewhere. In this case, BIURO remains your employer.
Do I have to pay to get a job?

No. All BIURO services for job seekers are completely free of charge. Charging job seekers for employment services is prohibited under the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.
If you come across other employment agencies requesting payment, we strongly encourage you to report it to the State Labour Inspectorate.

Are the jobs legal?

Yes, employment through BIURO is fully legal. We sign an employment contract with every employee and report it to Sodra (the State Social Insurance Fund Board).
BIURO employees receive full social guarantees, including state social insurance, compulsory health insurance, accumulation of employment history, and eligibility for sick leave benefits.

Will I work at the same workplace for the entire duration of the contract?

Not necessarily. When you sign a temporary employment contract, you become an employee of BIURO, but you work at one of our clients’ companies.

Once an assignment at one company ends, we will offer you a position at another. This means your workplace may change during the term of your employment contract.

Do you have job offers that can be combined with studies or another job?

Yes. Try our short-term job platform www.workis.online, where you will find flexible job offers that can easily fit around your schedule.
There are no interviews while applying with Workis. All you have to do is to choose a position, select your preferred shift, and apply directly on the platform. Once your application is approved by the employer, you’ll sign the employment contract online.

Do I need to register in advance for a job interview at a BIURO office?

It is not necessary to register for a job interview in advance, but we recommend that you do so. This way, you can avoid waiting upon arrival. You can register by filling in the form or by calling us at +370 649 02392.

Employment contract and other documents

What documents do I need to bring when signing an employment contract?
  • A valid ID card or passport
  • Your personal bank account number (for salary payments)
  • A medical certificate for work (if you don’t have one, we will provide the necessary form)
  • Depending on your situation, other documents may be required (e.g., children’s birth certificates, marriage/divorce certificate, disability certificate, hygiene or first aid training certificates, documents confirming your professional qualifications)
I’m currently registered with the Lithuanian Employment Service and receiving unemployment benefits. Will I lose my benefits and unemployed status if I start working with BIURO?

Yes. If you start working with BIURO, your unemployment benefit will be discontinued, and your unemployed status will be revoked.

However, if you sign a fixed-term employment contract for less than six months, your registration with the Lithuanian Employment Service remains valid. In this case, your benefits and unemployed status are only temporarily suspended for the duration of your employment contract.

Where can I get a medical certificate?

You can choose any clinic that is convenient for you to complete the required health check. However, we recommend visiting one of our partner medical institutions, where appointments are scheduled in advance. This helps you avoid waiting and ensures a faster process.

A list of recommended clinics will be provided by your BIURO project manager once you are selected for employment.

Salary

When will I receive my salary?

BIURO employees are paid on the 15th day of each month for the previous month’s work. If the 15th falls on a weekend or a public holiday, the payment is made on the next working day.

Can I request an advance payment?

Yes, if you are employed under a temporary employment contract and your employer is BIURO, you can request an advance. The advance amount cannot exceed 50% of the wages you have earned up to the date of the request.

You can submit your request via SMS to +370 649 02392. In the message, indicate the amount you would like to receive. We will review your request and reply via SMS to confirm whether and how much can be paid.

You can also request an advance by logging in to www.workis.online. After logging in, go to the “Payments” section and click the “Request advance” button. If you submit the request through the Workis platform, it will be approved instantly.

The advance will be paid the same business day if the request is submitted before 12:00 PM. If you submit your request after 12:00 PM, the payment will be made the next business day by 5:00 PM.

If you were hired directly by another company through BIURO, please contact your direct manager regarding the procedure for requesting an advance.

How many times per month is the salary paid?

The frequency of salary payments depends on who your employer is:

  • If you are employed under a temporary employment contract and BIURO is your employer:

By default, salary is paid once a month. However, if you prefer to receive your salary in instalments (e.g., twice a month or weekly), you must submit a request via SMS to +370 649 02392.

Please note that the request must be submitted each month in which you would like to receive your salary in instalments. Otherwise, your salary will be paid according to the standard schedule, i.e., once per month.

  • If you are directly employed by another company through BIURO:

The salary payment schedule is determined by the company.

Who determines my salary?

Your salary is determined by the company where you are currently assigned to work.

How will I receive my salary?

Your salary will be transferred via bank transfer to the personal account you have provided for the previous month.

What taxes does BIURO pay on behalf of the employee?

In accordance with the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, BIURO pays the following taxes on behalf of the employee:

  • personal income tax (GPM) at a rate of 20%, if the non-taxable income amount (NPD) is not applied;
  • compulsory health insurance contribution at a rate of 6.98%;
  • social security and pension insurance contribution at a rate of 12.52%.

A detailed breakdown of all applicable taxes is provided on your payslip.

Vacation and days off

How do I request time off or vacation?

If you would like to take a day off or go on vacation, you must first agree on the dates with the responsible person at your workplace. This could be your shift supervisor, team lead, or HR manager.

Once agreed, inform us and we will send you a vacation request form. Once completed, submit the form to your supervisor or HR representative.

Can I take a parental leave day?

Yes. Additional parental leave days are granted according to the following rules:

Parents raising two or more children under the age of 12 are entitled to one additional paid day off per month.
Parents raising one child under the age of 12 are entitled to one additional paid day off per quarter (i.e., every three months).
Parents raising a child with a disability under the age of 18 may take one additional paid day off per month, or choose to reduce their working hours by two hours per week.
Parents raising two children under 12, where one or both have a disability, are entitled to two additional paid days off per month (previously one).

In all cases, employees are paid their full salary for these leave days.
Important: You must provide both the child’s birth certificate and, where applicable, official documentation confirming the child’s disability.

Please note: Calendar quarters are fixed and counted as follows:
Q1: January–March
Q2: April–June
Q3: July–September
Q4: October–December

Entitlement to parental leave days is not adjusted based on the start date of your employment. Even if you begin working mid-quarter, the standard calendar period still applies.

When is vacation pay issued?

The timing of vacation pay depends on when the leave request is submitted. Typically, vacation pay is issued together with the regular salary for the current month.

Recommend a friend

Is there a limit to the number of friends I can refer?

No, you can refer an unlimited number of friends.

Do I have to be a BIURO employee to refer a friend?

No. Anyone can make a referral – you do not have to be employed by BIURO.

How will I know if my referred friend got the job?

You will receive an SMS notification once your friend is hired.

When will I receive a gift for referring a friend?

You will receive your gift after your friend has worked for at least 3 weeks.

How can I collect my gift?

We will notify you by SMS. You can collect the gift at one of our offices or, if that’s not possible, we will send it via parcel locker.

How will my friend’s and my data be used?

Your friend’s contact information will only be used to offer them a job opportunity. Your details will be used to identify you as the referring person and to issue the gift. All data is processed in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.

Can I order only the staff selection service, without employment through BIURO?

Yes, you can. BIURO offers both full and partial selection services, eliminating the need for the employee leasing (temporary employment) model.

Our team can:

– Find and present candidates who precisely match your needs;
– Carry out the entire selection process: from search to final candidate recommendations;
– Or take care of only certain parts of the process, such as generating a stream of candidates or initial assessment.

Can different services be combined?

BIURO operates as a one-stop shop partner and offers comprehensive personnel solutions – from market research to recruitment and administration. All our services can be flexibly combined to suit your needs.

For example:
– You hire one employee directly (BIURO only provides the selection service), and we hire the others through us, using temporary employment or employment relationship management solutions.

– We prepare job descriptions, job advertisements, and advise on market remuneration, while conducting comprehensive or partial selection in parallel.

– We combine selection with employment administration: after selection, BIURO handles employment contracts, payroll accounting, medical certificates for sick leave, holidays, and other related matters.

How much do BIURO services cost?

We prepare an individual offer for each client, taking into account their specific needs, the nature of their business and the market situation. We can only provide an accurate price after we have thoroughly examined what needs to be achieved and how.

Employee search

Does BIURO engage in headhunting?

Yes. We are looking not only for active job seekers, but also for passive candidates who are currently employed and have specific skills or experience.

We conduct targeted headhunting, especially when the following are required:
– Specific skills;
– Experience in a specific field;
– Higher-level specialists or managers.

Does BIURO only search for lower-skilled workers?

No. Although BIURO is often associated with the successful recruitment of low-skilled workers, this is only part of our business. We have specialised teams that search for higher-skilled specialists, professionals in rare fields, and middle and top-level managers.

We specialise in skills-based selection, which focuses not only on experience or education, but above all on real abilities.

How do we select the best talent?
1. We start by identifying the need. To this end, we use Lominger and other skills models to help us pinpoint the competencies required for a specific position.

Yes. BIURO offers a comprehensive solution for companies wishing to employ workers from third countries.

    The personal data of the recommended person will be used to contact them and provide services based on our legitimate interest. Your (the recommender’s) personal data will be processed based on your consent, so we can indicate you as the source of the recommendation when contacting the recommended person. By clicking the “Recommend a Friend” button, you agree to the processing of the personal data you provided in the form.
